Roth Boys (Video)

I like dude and I'm only a fan of a couple of Eminem's albums (the early ones). He reminds me of the cool white kids that I went to school with, lol. The mixtape is dope as well. It's different as you may expect. And he my have a point about Jay's executive skills BUT he did bring Rihanna, Ne-Yo (not really sure) and he brought NaS to the label (crazy!).....

LOVE this song and video. And I have always loved that Orchard Street shirt Jay has on. And the lovely Lauren London. But I REALLY like the other young lady that graces Pharrell's presence, Lanisha Cole. Oh, and peep the classic BBC.
*Notice the a lil less fat faces on ALL the individuals in this one, lol.. money man.

MTV Hottest MC 2008

Well there's the list and in some ways solid and correct but I would make a few corrections. I don't care what you or the group that put this together really. ONE Snoop would not make my list, at all! That could go to people that NaS (had to that's my dude), ADD). T.I has def. fell from last year so he can stay there, lol. Andre 3000 def. deserves the #9 spot and that's crazy cause he's only spit like 2-3 verses...DAMN! Jeezy yeah 8. LU!.. 7! u crazy!?.. The Cool is competing for the best album released from the people of this list! [shake head] 50 def. stepped it up since that compete dud (lol) 2 crazy mixtapes. I feel you Fif. Snoop. Nuff said. Like Sexual Seduction is tough but the rest of that album and the not writing ya lyrics doesn't do it for me (even though I'm not totally convinced w/ Weezy ;) )... Ricky Ross can keep 4. "Biggest boss that you've seen thus far!" Yes he is.. solid album. Jay killed them w/ the old feel of American Gangster even though people hate. (Stupid!) And for there to even be a debate to why Wayne not only loses to Jay or Yeezy for that matter is that he way TOO inconsistent. Crazy verse and mixtape hear then a TERRIBLE mixtape here (but those are ignored) and VERY weak verses or actual albums (except on Little Brother's Get Back, tough) there's no argument. Two dope "albums" out way aging "mixtapes" any day. He's lucky they dont make having an album part of the criteria. THEN the entire list would be flipped and different. Little Brother would be included (both memebers). Lupe would be higher def.! T.I would slip off the list. Now that'll be a debate for your ass! lol...

A Smart Guy: Jay Smooth

I consider myself a "smart guy" although I may not be the best student but i do believe that I am at least a somewhat bright individual. Even though I'm not the best speller or I may not a prude and be completely stiff in conversation. But I don't appreciate it when someone, especially our celebrities, display their inability to sustain a conversation. Let alone a coherent thought. So when I encounter an individual that can complete an articulate idea, I am ecstatic. For that reason I appreciate Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def, Swizz Beatz (yeah Swizz Beatz), etc for displaying intelligence while perpetuating a certain swag. Furthermore, during one of my routine perusing of the great internet I found my way to this guys' video blog, ill Doctrine the hip-hop video blog. It is created and maintained by Jay Smooth, who was a writer for The Source and founder of New York's longest running hip-hop radio show, WBAI's Underground Railroad. While he touches on many touching topics from the Presidential election to the passing of hip hop pioneers he combination of humor and intelligence is fun and inspiring. Take a look at his vlog and the videos below.

N.E.R.D interview with KUBE 93’s DJ Hyphen

I was always a pseudo N.E.R.D fan. I liked majority of their work from the stuff with the Clipse, to Jay's stuff to their own LPs but never a die hard. But this new concept is deep and is something that I knew occured when I listened to music but I never knew what it was called or how it worked. Kanye during one of those MTV diary like things showed a painting that he did that he saw in his mind when he listened to beats. That's crazy cause I see images, scenes and what not when I hear music. A lot of music now whats me see bad stuff (lol) and others cause me to draw blanks, although there are some that do paint some great mental pictures (Lupe). I'm lookin forward to the new album, "Seeing Sound".

I'm voting for Barack!

"Got Basquiats in the lobby of my spot"

Every wonder what the hell Jay-Z was talking about?.. Well he was referencing Jean-Michel Basquiat. Born December 22, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York. He gained popularity, first as a graffiti artist in New York City, and then as a successful 1980s-era Neo-expressionist artist. Basquiat's paintings continue to influence modern day artists and command high prices. His rise from the streets to stardom is a reason why I really digg his art aside from the fact they are just beautiful. HE is the inspiration for some of the Fall Collection. Keep a look out for that. Further readingCLICK HERE
